Crystal Clarke® Contemporary Jewellery Artist. I’m Crystal, a textile jewellery artist working from my Crystal Clarke Jewellery studio in rural Hartland close to the coast in North Devon. All my jewellery is designed and handmade by me, although some designs may be repeated, this still guarantees a unique piece of jewellery. I believe a piece of jewellery should be unique and have a connection, whether a keepsake of your favourite pet hair, a favourite colour, a favourite shape, a reminder of a wonderful place visited, a birthstone and no matter where you are, you can wear and embrace the connection of the beautiful jewellery piece. My unique range of handmade contemporary jewellery is inspired by living rural and close to the coast, from coastal and countryside walks, the changing seasons displaying their array of beautiful colours and textures that nature bestows on us. To create my jewellery designs I use my mixed media process. This involves using an eco resin with varied and recycled materials to create a base sheet. I pierce saw cut my designs and further enhance them by hand texturing, hand painting, wet felting wool, fibres, yarns. I use natures harvest including pressed flowers in to my jewellery designs to create original, unique pieces of jewellery. In many of my designs I use titanium, niobium and chainmaille. Sometimes I keep the titanium and niobium in their lovely natural colour, but I also love to hand paint these metals, creating a beautiful range of wonderful colours. Chainmaille is a time consuming process. I coil the wire into rings and saw cut the rings by hand. I then hand weave the rings in various weave patterns, chainmaille is beautiful resembling knitted and woven textiles, wonderfully tactile and feels lovely to wear. Crystal Clarke Brand. Jewellery pieces have a Crystal Clarke branded makers tag and comes to you in a lovely Crystal Clarke branded gift box. The precious metal jewellery over the legal weight is fully hallmarked with my personal makers mark (CC), this simply stands for Crystal Clarke. As well as my makers mark there is the date letter, metal purity, sterling silver mark plus the anchor denoting where the hallmarking took place which is the Birmingham Assay Office.
